Heeeeere's your sign...

...of Spring!

Yes, the land has decided to Spring it, and things are blooming.

The forsythia is always a little hesitant at first:

But in about a week, it'll be a big yellow Kraken beside the house.

The daffodils, on the other hand, are not at all shy about proclaiming their presence:

Cheerful, aren't they?

I shot those yesterday afternoon. Today, it's raining, which is all to the good - we are still in a massive deficit and rain will not only help fill that, it'll bring out more flowers. Of course we'll likely have cold snap sometime before April (we do every year), so I won't actually plant anything until then. Still, once the rain is gone, perhaps Bird and I will go out and pull weeds and make the ground ready for whatever we put in...if anything, because we still can't water. Sigh.

When other things start to bloom, I'll post more pics - it's always fun to watch the buds burst - I swear, some days it ought to sound like popcorn, it happens so quickly and profusely!

We are still staring at piles of snow. It snowed the other day too.....such is life in Edmonton. It will be spring here soon, for like a day before summer starts. We generally alternate between summer and winter with only a day or so of fall and spring in between.

Thanks for the beautiful pics, gives me something to look forward to seeing here!

Having an early, long Spring is one of the ups of living in Georgia. One of the downs is very little snow - maybe a fraction of an inch for the whole winter. Ah, well, we can't have everything.

We're getting an extended spring here in Northern California. Spring is usually for a week in late February, then it's back to California winter for a month, then spring again for twelve seconds and then BRUTAL SUMMER for six months.

I'll take what I can get, and it's lovely this week.
