Thumbnail Moon

It's getting late, and I'm tired, but I can't go to bed yet. T told Bird he could cuddle, so the bed is full of the pair of them, playing. Bird usually has one cuddle night a week, on Thursday when I am at Borders pretending to write writing and having my one night a week to be an adult unencumbered with a brilliant, beloved, sweet, loving...spawn. Even mums of the best children (Bird's not perfect, no worries) need a little time out. Er. Off. On Thursday, T and Bird order pizza and do that male bondage bonding thing. They watch cartoons, wrestle on the big bed, and stay up way too late. It's good for Bird, good for T, to have that kind of playful time.

This week, Bird has had several cuddle nights as T goes to bed before I do. I don't mind, much. Right now I hear Bird laughing and playing with T, and it's a nice sound.

I'm tired, but I don't want to end their fun. I hate being the wet blanket.

So instead of going to bed, I am watching a new (for me) show called "Some Assembly Required" on Discovery. It's amusing and informative, so who could ask for more?

Somewhere on the right side of this page is a list of blogs I read. I'm adding one to it. No, I won't tell you which one, you'll have to pay attention. Go read them all, they deserve a little time and attention. I'll keep...I'm tired, but I will be here for a while, lurking in blogdome so the Evil Genius gets his daddy time.

I can stare out the window at the thumbnail moon, made fuzzy by wet and heavy skies. Maybe if I go outside I'll hear the owl calling - either something akin to a phone ringing or a horse whinnying, depending on his mood. Yes, he's still hanging about.

I read something in another blog this morning that elicited an "Oh, thank goddess I'm not the only one!" response from me. Dawn over at Because I Said So said something about how she feels when her husband is home sick from work. Her answer was spot on for how I feel. It's not reasonable, no, but there you have it - emotion so rarely is.

Meanwhile, me and the moon are going to hang out and contemplate our navels or something. G'night.
